This is my kitty, Alli, who stays at home with my mom while I'm at college. I recently got to visit her again, and I miss her SO MUCH so I decided to snap a few pics of her to put on my wall, and I thought this one turned out really really well. I know people get really sick of animal pictures, so I don't expect it to do well, but it was one of my very favorites of the year, and that's the point of this challenge!

Only post processing is Remove Color and Auto-Levels in PE and a small border.

Hi!. Nice cat :-)

Two things about this photo: Firstly, I think it could do with a little sharper focus. Second, I'm not sure about the crop. I think a little more space on the left would feel better and not cut off the whiskers so abruptly.

I'm a sucker for cats. I have two of them myself. They are really tough to shoot. In this case, it looks like you were too close. There's no sharp focus point. So kitty is fuzzy, but not in a good way. Try taking a step back. Also consider cropping so more ear shows. Cat ears are very expressive. Plus they add a nice leading line to the shot.

The thing I would look for in this is a bit more sharpness in the detail. (not that you need to sharpen it in the computer ... but it appears maybe you were just outside of the focus point for the lens, perhaps too close to focus?)

This looks like a true friend! Such a peaceful expression! I'd actually like to see more of him/her!

Nice cat 'pose' looks a little soft though. IMO the eye could be sharper.I like the tight crop.

Plus: Love the light, especially in the whiskers. Like the soft focus on the fur. Minus: Sure wish the ears weren't cropped. Also wish the eye were sharper.

Nice capture. Unfortunately the focus looks a bit off.

This is the kind of photo that can mean a lot to the person who took it but not so much to others. It is not a bad photo of a cat but not a great photo either. To my tastes the focus seems a bit soft.

Subject is very common and not entirely in focus. Lighting is interesting though. I think color would be a big improvement, but that is my personal taste.

not enough DOF and the white spot should have been removed - nice profile though

Cute picture. BW works well, though the focus seems slightly off.

In my opinion the shot looks blurry. The hot spot under the chin is very distracting as well. I do like the profile style shot tho.

Your subject is cute, good DOF, good perspective and composition, but very bad overall focus. This doesn't give the feeling of soft focus at all
