Challenge: Breaking New Ground (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon EOS-20D
Location: Grand Ffalls, NB
Date: Jan 12, 2005
Aperture: F8.0
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1.5 seconds
Galleries: Humorous, Emotive
Date Uploaded: Jan 13, 2005

This is shot with my Canon 550EX flash. It has a strobe function where you can choose how many flashes per second + how many flashes to shoot. In this case I shot 15 shots at 1/32 power (I think). I used a 1.5 second exposure. It's a function I've been meaning to play with.

I had a black sheet for a background and a black sweater to isolate my head. I used a remote shutter release to activate my camera, which was on a tripod. I moved my head from (my) left to right.

Pretty trippy.

Canon 17-40 F4L set @ F8

I thought this would get much closer to ribbons. Disturbing but very well executed.

I thought this may have been yours Jacko! I remember your shot from Impressionism, much the same idea. I bet you were seeing spots for days after shooting this!

I'm not typically a fan of these shots, but something here is unique. Maybe it's the border, or reasonably good focus along the series of faces. Good job on this one.

Reminds me of a horror flick. Not something I'd hang on my wall, but the effect is cool. Nice work.

Cool, but flat. The effect is very cool and you can see a lot of detail, but the flat lighting makes the whole image that much drabber.

"One eye commentator":
A very interesting effect. On future efforts I recommend painting the eyelashes real black. Adding black to the nostrils and wearing a colorful bowtie. The effect is cool. Bumping up.

A cool strobe effect. Think the white line hurts it a little though.

I know it's supposed to be scarey, but it gave me a chuckle.

Whoa, freaky dude in a business suit multiple times =). I don't know how possible it was, but it would be kindof funny if the pose changed from one end to the other.
