Lens: Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED
Location: The cow pasture out back

RAW adjustments: curves, white balance, color balance. Then cropped off the right side, run through Neat Image, re-sized and USM applied. I don't know if this is my best shot from 2004, but it's one I like a lot.

Excellent detail and depth of field (yes, pun intended) on this. Not sure if the cow on the left is helping or hurting the composition. Well done regardless. ((7))

sweet, sweet capture. great expressions. i hope this isn't getting overlooked in this super-sized challenge, and that you are getting good feedback. it does seem, though to need just a little more post-processing; there is a bit of a greenish cast, that is detracting from an otherwise wonderful image. thanks for sharing. good luck with this, and all the challenges yet to come!

Beautifully clear. I would have liked to have seen more of the cow on the left.

I love the expression on the cows face... Find the cow on the left distracting and would have preferred to only see cow 313...Nice DOF.

Holy cow! Hoho, nice shot. Might have been improved by cropping out the cow on the left though IMO.

Brilliant cow candid. I can't help but smile at the expression on her face. Shame about the other cow - it really only distracts from the main feature.

made me smile, that cow is looking right at me, I think I would like to see her friends entire head or not at all, if you cropped it tigher then she would be center and that might not work.

I would have cropped the cow on the right only, it such a nice sunject by herself.

This is such a cute picture! I love the background and the great focus on the cow. I think I personally would have liked it better if the partial cow on the left had been cropped out of the picture, but I really love the picture anyway.

This is a beautiful photo only thing I don't like is the half head on the left. This is a case where the rule of thirds should have been broken IMHO it would have given you a much stronger photo. Bumping up 1 extra

This one makes me laught, not sure why, but it does. Maybe it's her expression. Anyhow I love it.

maybe too much shadow/highlight tool? With the black in this image, I'd bet some levels work would really make this image POP!

Great expression on the bovine and a nice direct look. I think I would like to crop out the other cow altogether as it is a little distracting from the main subject. I might also boost the contrast a little bit to set the subject off of the background a little more...

Moo! Would be nice to vertical crop the one cow. Would make this from 5 to 9

I have a feeling that cow knows I've eaten a few hamburgers.

the colors are a bit too bleached - no pun on the whiteness of the theme intended .. and a bit more cow on the left would have been interesting - great stare though !!

I would try cropping down to just your main subject, the "half-cow' is kind of a distraction for me.

Well done portrait. His eyes make him look more intelligent than your typical cow! I like that you offcentered him and included the adjacent cow.

One of the only cow pictures I've seen that I thought was very good. Somehow the crop on the left cow either makes me want to have it's right eye included, or to have that cow missing altogether, but the main subject is strong enough that it's just a minor criticism. Great color, dof and setting for this photo.

I would crop off the left and focus on the cow that is in the entire shot. This also has a slight green cast to it that's noticeable on the white of the cow and its nose.

Well done. I like the black and white of the cow against the saturated green background. The detail in the black of the cow is also excellent. I would however have given higher marks with a little tighter crop. The cow on the left is a distraction.

This is really neat...I think I would have cropped a bit tighter to get the other cow out of the shot and just focused in on the main girl there. But I really like the image! 9 from me.

Interesting photo. Very sharp and excellent DOF. I'm not fond of the others cows head on the right and I personally probably would have cropped it out. The title goes well with the photo lol. <8>
