My friends, me & a huge mother sword in public. Phew! Made it thru the shoot w/o the police rolling up on us asking 20 questions.

It was a short shoot but was really fun, especially bc my sword-wielding friend tripped & fell flat on his face for the very last shot. Hehehe. He emerged from it unscathed & we got a good chuckle from it all.

Anyway, not much to the shot. The dof was not too intense so I incerased it by adding a bit of gluassian blur as well as a lens blur. Layered the shot, ditching the colour on one.
Had a few different crops that I liked but ended up using this one. Anywho, resized the bad boy & then opt for web.

I really wanted to capture something about the intangible in this shot. The Bokeh technique is actually kinda fun & allowed me to bring forth the idea of emotions we feel, like fear, that can distrupt our unsuspecting lives when we least expect it.

Love the expression of the guy in the background: "Why I oughta...!" Not quite bokeh in my book, but I really enjoy the image anyway.

The challenge said the bokeh should "enhance" the subject - not scare it! But anyway - a well done and thought-provoking image.

One of the best I've come across so far

Very creative and haunting image. The foreground model has a pronounced halo, almost as if the image was extracted and then placed into another image. Probably not the case, but it does take away from an otherwise near perfect capture.

Good use of selective desat. The guy in the red hoodie is apparently left-handed, which makes him look a little weird, because images of people "about to swing" often feature the thing to be swung above the right shoulder. But that may be neither here nor there.

The short definition of Bokeh from KenRockwell.com: "Bokeh describes the rendition of out-of-focus points of light." Is the subject enhanced by the bokeh of the background? For this particular image I'd say no. The desaturation of the subject makes this a more interesting shot.

wonderful shot.. i'm sure you'll get grilled on whether or not this is actually bokeh, but i'll just go ahead and leave it at my first comment.
