 Taken over the summer in central park. I had been following this butterfly for a while and He wouldnt sit still. Finally He landed and stayed in one place for a while. He was flapping his wings so the tips of the wings are a bit over out of focus I hope that dosnt cost me too much. It's hard to pick your favorite image for the whole year. Being that this was my first year with my camera it was a very exciting year I took alot of pictures and I have many favorites but this was the first I saw. I hope you Enjoy it.

nice capture, colors are subtle, not overly saturated, but I wish it had more depth of field

Very pretty butterfly - good job getting close enough to get this, I've found they tend to be skittish little critters. As for the image itself - I'd like it a little better if the tips of the wings and the butterly's head were fully in focus - you've got the middle of it really crisp, but it falls away a littl at the edges. A little saturation/contrast bump probably wouldn't have hurt your chances either. 6.

This is really nice. I normally don't get too excited about butterfly pictures, but this one is composed so perfectly, and the situation of the colors and the clarity have made this one really stand out. Great job.

yout Monarch needs a tad more contrast to bring out the black and orange better

Lovely shot, good focus on the eyes. In a perfect world, a little more DoF to sharpen the wings would have made it perfect!
