This shot looks like it needs something else...either interesting lighting, a unique perspective, or great subject. As it is, I just see a picture of a tree without anything really adding interest. The lighting is pretty flat, the landscape is very centered and somewhat ho hum. Now, remember this is just my opinion, but that's what I'm here to share. Maybe you could have gotten a reflection of the tree? I hope this is helpful. |

here's a couple tips on composition for you. 1) if you are going to center your subject, make sure that it is such an overwhelming subject that it says, "Yes, I am in the spotlight because I SHOULD BE!" anything less forceful should be quickly moved off-center. 2) work for contrast so that the eye doesn't get lost in blended details.
this looks like a good place to shoot year round. explore it from all angles until you find a couple of killer perspectives. make sure you find at least one perspective that will show off the tree as well as the sky.
