The curved tracks filled with water draw us into the fire. This and the strong color make this a good shot. But it seems to me that the problem with the photo is the blob that is impossible to recognize as a child, or as any animate being. It's hard to recognize, even knowing what it is. Finally, I imagine that the photo could be made stronger with the left eighth or tenth cropped off - that uninteresting black column of space. Still, dispite its several flaws, it is a strong photo.

Looks hot. You should have cropped away the black part on the left (about 1/6 of the image width). I love the reflections in the water puddles. The horizon looks tilted. The colours are great. 8.

I find it hard to get good light balance when taking a picture of fire, but you did a good job. I like the texture of the tire marks in the ground and the embers at the lower left of the fire. However I think your picture would of benefited more it taken from a higher POV. The way it is Waldo's head blends in with the black area of the fire. IMO it would of been great if his silhouette could of been expressed by the reflection on the ground which you would of had to have a higher POV. As-is your photograph is good and merits a good score.

Very dramatic shot, maybe a little bit small.

This is an intense picture. Maybe it could've been cropped on the left a little?

Having taken a few of these 'brenna' photos myself, I prefer having the person silhoutted against the fire, and in a more interesting pose.

Revisiting. Ooh...big flames, brings out the old pyromaniac in me! :-)

Quite a stunning presentation and the silhouette effectively puts this in the "Meets challenge" column. Bumping up.
