A bit of metal art that caught my attention at a roadside "junque" vendor's roadside booth while passing through Warrenton at peak antiquing season. I'm guessing it was assembled from a variety of repurposed tractor and hand tool parts.

***AFTER ROLLOVER***

Never in a million would have expected this one to be so well received. Proof to anyone out there that often the best moments we've captured are the ones that we never intended to use for anything in particular. Just said, "Hey look at that!" And snapped.

Thanks, everyone!

Most of the time, I find a way to come to a complete stop (or at least confirm that I'm reasonably in a safe place without traffic) before taking photos from my car. Fortunately, in this instance, I was on foot, because in this area during antiquing season, you could never safely get out of traffic and would risk running over pedestrians. The zoom blur filter was a stylistic choice I hazarded because I thought it might add a little lo-fi verve to the subject's expression--and help diminish the impact of so many distracting elements on the bottom of the frame. There's a lot of "junque" to be seen everywhere you look at these antique festivals...

Believe it or not, this wasn't the most unusual thing I saw that day. Just the most unusual one I still had a valid original for. LOL

That would look great in my front yard! Great capture. You said you were “passing through”. Was the car moving when you took the picture? The distortion in the bottom makes it feel that way. I hope you weren’t driving!! Anything for a DPC challenge;).

A-maze-ing. And I do like how you incorporated it into the frame.
