Chirpy missed mom and dad, especially the fat grubs they stuck in his mouth. He could never find them. In the distance, he saw a tall towering figure. Does he have grubs? He flew over to investigate, landing on his shoulder, but he didn't move, even when Chirpy pecked at his straw hat.
"Listen, even though you don't have any grubs, you want to be buddies?"
The figure didn't say anything, but to be fair, Chirpy was hard to understand. He liked perching up here. He could see the crows sooner, and they weren't bothering him anyway, for some reason. Scared, I guess. |
