Decided to use sepia toning as the original colours of the nut and nutcracker didn't match well.

Edits:
Minor dodge&burn, cloned away some small nut fragments. Cropped, resized, sepia toned and usm.

I usually like this type of shading, but it's not adding anything to your shot in my opinion. The natural colors I think would have been better

It always strikes me how much a walnut looks like brains. Nice picture. I wonder how many walnuts you had to crack before you found one that would stay whole (:
