From the placing of this piece, we can deduce one thing: DPchallenge users are fucking morons.

I was the only person who gave this a 10, apperently. I absolutely love this shot. It's a very interesting and unique photo, which is more than I can say for about more than I can say for about 240 of the other submissions. Just look at the fucking comments to see what i'm talking about. "I don't understand what this is! Why don't you just take a picture of a watch?" Jesus christ these people should be shot.

Great job, and don't let this placing discourage you.

Hey thanks for the views, votes, and comments, to all of those who are wondering this is an antique sausage grinder. I did feel having this much out of focus would either make this unique and beautiful of hard to look at.

I shot a few other angles, but I didn't think that any of them met the challenge.

What is it?

Nice image, I really like the tones, the lighting and as I look at this image my opinion is that you are trying to emphasize the use of curves in your composition... sort of an abstract presentation of a simple machine. I would have preferred to see the in focus area to be sharper to give it more texture. All in all, well done. 8

I can't even tell what this is. Doesn't have appeal.

It is not clear enough ... anyway the front part is very distracting

Sorry, but having that much of the foreground out of focus is just a bad idea.
