We are often at the mercy of Mother Nature. Too much sun makes a slow shutter speed capture very difficult. Your 70-200 lens is perfect for this shot. I have used an ND filter under these conditions and it has worked well to allow you to get the result you are looking for. Butterflies are wonderful subjects but quite challenging!
