 Yes, she can really do this - on cue all by herself.
I did have a container behind her so she could rest her leg, but she didn't use it in this shot.

Exceptional work. Not just as a piece of photography -- much harder to execute than it appears, I'm sure -- but as a piece of whimsical visual storytelling.
