 The lantern fly is an invasive species from Japan that damages grapes and fruit trees by feeding on their sap. It is recommended that you kill them if you see them. I squirt them with soapy water in a spray bottle! They are very fast.

Not sure I've ever seen one of these before. This is a gorgeous capture, though. Reads like an illustration from a science textbook.
