 Sheer coincidence this happened, otherwise I didn't have an entry for this challenge.

Same day as my Free study shot, and the reason I titled this photo the way I did.

Several parts of WA had a once in a 50 year storm on this day. We had just checked into our hotel and decided to go to the beach shortly after. It was wild and woolly and it was very difficult to stay in the thick of it without being blown over. My lens kept on getting fogged up, that’s why my image in the free study was quite soft. This is my husband braving the storm. We were absolutely freezing. But I was really enjoying seeing the gigantic waves as the storm started brewing, the winds were 137 km an hour. We were there for maybe a good 30 minutes and then decided to go back to our hotel. An elderly gentleman was walking in the hallway and said something about him having no power in his hotel, we thought okay this is going to be interesting.

In the morning we decided to go out all day so the power blackout didn’t really affect us. We had a message saying the power would probably not come back on until 6.30 p.m. 6.30 p.m rolled up, still no power so we had previously decided that if there was no power in the morning we would leave, even though we had one extra night booked. At about 9 a.m. we had a knock on the door saying that we had to vacate. Well that’s exactly what we were going to do anyway..

The huge bonus of the whole event was a full refund of the three nights. We still managed to have a lot of fun despite the power blackout’s. And talk about grit, we had to endure cold showers. 🫪 yeah I know, first world problems LOL.
