 The painterly filtering and compositing on this one probably won't connect with everyone. For me, however, this is much more about mood and atmosphere. This golden-into-blue-hour silhouette was shot in the early parts of the same hometown rodeo I attended for the recent Sports challenge.

The light and colors are wonderfully handled. I love the shapes and colors against the golden sky. And the silhouetted cowboy hat grabs me. The painterly effect works, but isn't really my taste. That said, I don't really mind it except in the sky, where I find the darker brush strokes a bit distracting.
