I've never had much luck with butterflies or flowers in challenges, but this seems like a fitting place to share an image like this one. This is a painted lady butterfly--one of the most vibrant species I routinely observe here in Lee County--resting atop a cluster of Old Plainsman blossoms--which are possibly my second-favorite of all Texas wildflowers. They emerge with an almost wedding-attire whiteness and purity, then mature into these gorgeous pinkish-white blossoms before eventually fading to dried tan after-blossoms. And they're super photogenic (I think) at all stages, especially when the light hits them just right.
