This challenge meant a lot to me because it aligns closely with the kind of photography I love, aside from portraiture. I’m drawn to street photography and what I'd like to call "fleeting (in)significance" that captures human-ness, frailty, and the raw truths of reality the ugly, the sad, and the honest. The things that often live far from the spotlight, but still deserve to be seen, understood, and even celebrated.

I took this particular photo from a moving taxi. I usually keep my phone ready, and I happened to spot these two people by the roadside waiting for public transportation.

I’m also really happy to finally complete the 3 ribbon colors with this yellow one.

Thank you, pennystreet, for your comment. I’m glad the image reminded you of that band’s really interesting story (makes me think that nothing is an accident, only the inevitable). To posthumous, thank you as well for your existential reflection. It made me pause and think more deeply about people, distance, and existence, and meaning. Thanks too to armando_m, tate especially for the bump, and blindjustice. And especially to Debbie The Barroness for your celebratory comment and I agree, study of the times indeed.

kind of annoyed by the mirror but that is very "posthumous" so I can't really blame you. kind of aggressively "bad" photo in several ways, which is also very "posthumous." Biggest transgression to me is that big swath of road. so much nothing. The title is pretending to be about the distance between the two people, but really it's about that big old desert of a road between you and them, between me and them. The mirror emphasizes that distance. There's a feeling to that, a weight you might say. As Wallace Stevens said, "The [pair] are not seen/as the observer wills."

I'm hanging this in my fantasy gallery

This tells a story. I might have cloned the mirror but I love the characters.
Reminds me of The Band's Visit when they arrived not only at the wrong stop but in the wrong country.
