 Mario is our pet duck living in London. He is trained to be photographed and not to be worried of stands, softboxes or (low power) flashing lights. He knows many commands such as go to swim, sit, stay, come, go inside, sleep time, food time etc. He is great fun to have him about when watching TV or going to the local park for walks. Ducks are emotionally intelligent and easy to train as long as you spend a lot of time with them.

That's an inspiring backstory. :-) I'm betting if there had been anything in the frame to convey human interaction with Mario this would have been a ribbon winner for sure. It's technically just so lovely, and adore the expression you've captured here.

pet or not, the image is good, nothing distracting in the background and a good use of DOF and lighting.
