Probably not the most exciting "wildlife" photo I've ever taken, but I was so thrilled to have caught one of these close enough for a decent image. These are one of the most skittish birds around here. I've NEVER been able to approach one any closer than 30 or 40 yards. Got lucky! :-)

It's beak is all muddy from hunting for worms. I was able to observe it repeatedly thrusting the head and burying the beak all the way in. Would have been cool to have caught an image with it having successfully captured a worm.
