Seems like there's always a constant threat in our lives, at least here in the US. Waffled back and forth about including the handgun. Had some options without it but feel like it will grab attention (for better or worse) and is definitely a statement.

The old newspaper up top is from my grandparent's collection of old artifacts. The main article that's mostly visible is about D-Day.

The more current newspaper is from the day after 911 and the WTC terrorist attack. I've kept a few newspapers with major events for my kids and grandkids to have someday.

For a more recent anxiety concern I just Googled "school shootings". Sad how many there are. The one displayed is more recent.

To fit the theme of this photo it would have been nice to have something between 1943 and 2001, like a Vietnam article, but I didn't have it.
