Shot along the shoreline of one of the reservoirs at a wastewater treatment facility near Austin, Texas. This site is a wildlife refuge for migrating waterfowl. I had hoped to see something more exciting than ducks, but these mallards were so much more beautiful and wild than the ones I typically see in the city parks.

Mileage will likely vary with the processing on this. I leaned hard into the lo-fi vintage film aesthetic I enjoy so much. But not everyone responds well to that.

Thanks! If this were to be selected as a calendar image--and this applies to most of the images so far submitted--I do anticipate that some cropping choices would be necessary anyway to fit the 12x12 (square) format. I'd be inclined to agree that the negative space on the right could be trimmed down for sure in this one.

Beautiful and serene coloration, interesting how half of you image is out of focus and the other in focus almost down the middle. This and the coloration works really for this beautiful image. I hope this is a safe place for the wildlife using it.

I am enjoying the controlled texture. It kind of leaves questions as to what else was out there to be seen. Nice.
