 "Best" is such a subjective word. In the end, I decided to go with something deeply personal. So this is an occasion to squeeze in one last shot from our trip to Washington this past fall. On our third day in Seattle, we took a long hike in Discovery Park, out to a lighthouse with a magnificent view of the water and surrounding landscape. Although the weather didn't cooperate for the golden-hour lighthouse photos I might have imagined capturing, it did supply dozens of mysteriously beautiful, serenely meditative scenes like this one. I'm sure this isn't my most technically accomplished photo of 2025, but for me, it's definitely one of a few that I could stare at and get lost in the longest.

I loved the mood here, it reminded me of a scene at one of the beaches in California. I can't remember which location, but all the fallen trees were perplexing to me, it really ruined the serenity that a beach should display. We don't have this in Australia, our beaches are pretty amazing, IMHO :)
