... that you'd use such a "familiar face" in this challenge, albeit in an unusual setting.

Shot with Exposure Compensation at -1 eV.
Cropped and straightened a bit (I had to stand in the middle of a busy street to get this).

One RGB curve applied to the moon with a quickie masking job; and RGB and a Blue Curve applied to the rest. Masked-off and applied a third curve to bring out the yellow in the High Voltage sign.

I "let go" the little bit of blue haloing around the moon ... doesn't bother me too much, and maybe it will garner me some DQ requests : )

Resized, two applications of USM at 66%/0.6 dia/TH=5. JPEG=9/10.

Dang it -- I didn't even see "that" face until looking at the thumbnail for the fourth time tonight. Thanks!

If spot editing were alowed you could clone out this halo

I more or less left the ugly effect in place to see if it would garner a DQ request (took a few hours, maybe!) and if the validation would have a significant effect on the score (not that much -- that's good!).

It would have been possible to get rid of the holoing, but as usual I didn't really have time to do a good job of it, so I tried to leave it looking deliberate.

This had to be a hand-held shot at long zoom since to achieve the composition I had to be between two lanes of a major boulevard during rush hour -- I figure I must have had 15-30 seconds easy : )

Maybe I'll post a picture of the "set-up" for this shot ...

Nicely conceived! A little soft in the colors and I'm not sure about the fringing on the moon. But your composition is right on.

The moon is just a bit too over-exposed.

Nice color effect, but the moon doesn't look natural.
