Challenge: Hidden Faces (Advanced Editing III)
Collection: Challenges
Camera: Canon EOS-10D
Location: home

Shutter: 180 / with strobe

Made cardboard cutout. Place black cardboard behind hat area and painted the rest. Held mask over sink.

Levels, cloned to rid imperfections and burn and dodge. um.

Three strobes. All bounced. Two behind the cutout and to the sides and the third bounced on rear to light the front. The balanced lighting give the illusion of two dimension, desired in this case. That is the color of the sink and apple on knife and knife taped to stopper.

I was looking through your portfolio and thinking how some of your sureal images remind me of Magritte and then I found this one :) You have a tremendous amount of creativity!

I bet you could pull off the one with the man looking in the mirror and seeing the reflection of the back of his head (La reproduction interdite)!!!

Hmmm. Not sure what to say. Looks a little over PS'd.

Humorous, but I think the subject is too obvious and that there could have been a better one.

Apt title. Bizarre image. Just enough that I like it a lot!

I'd like to see a "How to" on this one (unless that's really what your sink looks like)!

Original and creative. I think I would have chaged the background color.

I have spent some time trying to figure out how you have presented the whole thing looking flat. I can't figure out. I really like your approach and the result. Well done.

This is wildly creative and well-done but for me it totally doesn't meet the challenge of "finding" faces, and since the "skill" here is in the assemblage rather than in the photography, I rate it low.
