What a story, thanks for sharing. Seems a lot of war heroes choose to not talk about the war. My nonno was part of the lighthorseman and he would often recall stories with us as small children. We loved it.
Your father was a very handsome man. BTW I didn't think the photo was underexposed, seemed to me it was edited with that purpose in mind to convey an impression.

| I like the story line on this. Seems substantially underexposed though. The white (or even off-white) of the letter should be brighter IMO. |
