No busy beaches around in 30 degree weather. Looks like he used Kodachrome and liked bright red. Tried to duplicate the spontaneous "street photography" style and film processing that he used. Did the best I could under the circumstances. Not expecting a good response but felt like I should enter the last challenge of the year!

Yeah, if you are looking for colorful, can't go wrong with the ice cream truck. Congrats!

Fair enough, my friend. :-)

Remembering we have an international audience I should probably clarify: What I was hoping to convey with that tongue-in-cheek title is that this image really captures the childlike joy of the ice cream truck with its bright colors and tantalizing pleasures. I don't know that anyone ever outgrows that--and I think Parr would have been tickled by this sight.

Congrats on a well-earned ribbon!

Thank you. I didn't know if you were aware that that was a self portrait! Getting old is not fun but one learns to accept reality and be able to laugh about it! Ice cream is a weakness of mine. There is a little story about this picture. When the challenge appeared and after looking at Parr's portfolio it brought to mind the ice cream truck parked in a side lot I have passed many times. I actually thought that one day I might be able to use it in a challenge. The trick was getting a soft ice cream cone to the truck and get a picture of it before it melted. Amazon is a wonderful thing. I bought a plastic party favor one online to use in the picture!!
