Several layers of juxtaposition here that struck me as we toured the Space Needle park. In particular, I like how the placement of this totem pole serves as a reminder of the indigenous American heritage that is still very much a part of the cultural identity of the Pacific Northwest, even as the modernism of the Space Needle is an icon of space age ambition.

-- AFTER RESULTS --

Seattle has indeed been good to me here. I really wouldn't have expected this one to resonate this strongly, but it means a lot to me that it does. It's my favorite of all the "touristy" Seattle shots I got that day.
