I've stopped posting personal information and have removed all images except for challenge entries which must remain.
I'm uncomfortable with the amount of traffic to this site that simply scrapes data from what's publicly available. Probably common to any website nowadays, but I refuse to feed the bots and scrapers any more than I need to.
I've noticed 'Guests' from all over the world running automated data collection. Iran, Iraq, South Africa, Pakistan, India, Vietnam, Brazil, Japan, UAE, Singapore and others, are constantly parked here. Facebook and Google have permanent attachments. Various AI bots can also be found walking the various URL's of DPChallenge.
Data collection is not limited to just photos but also includes comments, favorites, forums, etc.
Yes, we are global and that's a good thing in general. My Flag Counter (on profile page) has 84 unique country visits thus far. This helps with diversity and uniqueness of entries and opinions, so my concern is not with who is visiting, but rather who is data collecting. |
