 A mature White-tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) pauses mid-step, framed by the soft textures of the forest in the evening light at Minnesota Valley Wildlife Refuge. His right antler shows a broken G2 tine, a distinctive mark that tells of the trials and survival of autumn's rut. Captured with the OM System OM-1 Mark II and Zuiko 50-200mm ?2.8, this portrait blends calm focus with the quiet strength of the wild and a moment of stillness between light and shadow.

For the hidden comment: He has no signs of fighting on him. His G2 on the right side is broken, but it appears to have broken while in velvet. A break while hard-horned will look a lot different.

This is the first image I have entered with the new OM Systems 50-200mm ƒ2.8 IS Pro. I am in love with this lens.
