An early morning scene in McDade, Texas -- once nicknamed "Tie Town" because of its historical significance as a railroad construction hub. The depot hub downtown is all but abandoned these days, but it still has a melancholy beauty to it. To me, the benches along this once-vibrant business corridor are a reminder that this rural community was once a hub of business and social activity rather than one bypassed by time and the nearby rural highway.
