Wingy's "Break!" has always been one of my DPC favorites. I've played around with it before, and when the Deja Vu challenge came up, I knew immediately I wanted to replicate his shot. I titled it 'apologies' because my feeble attempt at replication doesn't even come close to the brilliance and clarity of his original.

For my image, no crop, some curves and levels to improve contrast. Slight USM initially and then more extreme to improve tones as a final step. Remove noise with Kodak Digital Gem plug-in. Selected and reduced brightness and contrast of side areas to conceal basement clutter.

I shot over 100 breaks over a two day period for this shoot. Whew!

As a pool shooter I absolutely love this shot. It shows that the outside balls won't go in if the rack is tight and on the mark.

In fact, I'm showing this to a friend that racks'em up, any ole way. Good for me as the breaker...bad for him as the chump who's giving away free money.
