So, uh.. out-of-focus plastic apples not hot this year then?

And yeah, that 'idiot' comment was unnecessary. True enough, but still not very nice ;)

it doesn't say "xmas" for me, especially since the very shallow depth-of-field leaves only the candle wick/black stem sharp, and how can THAT be the point of this image?

It's a very nice image. I don't know that is fits my idea of a holiday decoration, other than the tradional colors.
