A humble tribute to arngrimur's excellent No Strings Attached. Many thanks to Jeff Cravetz for his input and for the use of his guitars, without which this shot would have been impossible.

I decided to go in a somewhat different direction with my version, opting for electric rather than acoustic guitars. Where the sound hole gave context for the previous entry, the strings and neck do so on this one.

This is probably my most post-processed entry ever. Editing was as follows:

Background was black but reflecting a lot of light. Selected background (using magic wand) and blacked it out using levels. Did the same for the holes in the lighter guitar to hide a label inside. Rotated 0.1° clockwise. Cloned/healed out some smudges on the lighter guitar and some hot spots in the light on the darker one. There was not much I could do about the light at the top of the back guitar so I left that go. Cleaned up the edge of the guitar and bumped up the saturation.

I diverged quite a bit from the version to which this pays tribute so I'm not sure how this will score. No matter as I'm quite happy with the result.

A worthwhile take off on the original. The Ovation gives the extra interest along with the electric. Bumping up.

Being a guitar player, I realy like these kind's of shots. The knob on the rear guitar is distracting IMO, however. I would have cloned it out. I would also like to see some way to lessen that shadow. Still, nice lines and colors.

The shape of the instrument has been well used in this image.

Humorous paody. I sold both my guitars and am left with just the woman now. I feel I may have made a kistake at times! :) A few blemishes could have been removed given advanced editing rules. 8.

great color would have gotten rid of knob at top and light reflections on wood

the shadow cast by the FG guitar onto the BG one is really annoying. the light is a bit too flat and the guitar-surfaces seem to be too featureless

This does justice to the original shot, well done :) The colours look very nice.
