a great example of people having a superficial understanding of a word.
A word is not a pointer to a thing. A word is a constellation of denotations, connotations, and histories. In this case, the voters were probably thinking only of a narrow genre of photography.
(or maybe it's just their usual hatred of blur and noise but it was a good opportunity for me to point-ificate) |
