This is totally a personal preference here. I think I'd really like this better without the water drops. To me, when the water drops are on a rose, it reminds me that the rose is fresh, and new and full of life. The water makes it seem even more alive. This shot, suposed to represent despair, I think should have no water drops. I realize that water drops are added to make something interesting, so it isn't JUST a rose, but there is no reason for this rose to have water. it's dead, and sad. otherwise, the focus and clarity are great. angle and framing/cropping are excelent and the background is also good. I like how it fades color. Great shot. good luck in the challenge.

Nice. Effective, too. Feels like the flower is crying.

this is a pretty picture, but drops of water don't really go with your "wilted" rose... one would expect to see them on a fresh flower, as a result of watering or rain - neither would apply in this situation...

Nice image and bright colors. I like the dew drops on the rose as well. Nice job.

Best wilted flower shot so far! Use of color and focus is subtle and magnificent.

Hmm.. The addition of water is distracting to this photo - usually it's used to convey a feeling of freshness or morning dew, not despair. Without it, the photo would have been a 7 in my book.
