This is "Bovenmolen G", Molendijk 8, Schermerhorn. Build in 1633.

I stood up sundaymorning, saw reasonably good light, jumped into a car and raced towards Schermerhorn. But as I got near the light turned towards a boring grey. That blue sky in the background was rapidly disappearing and never came back. :(

Widmills? AGAIN!?!?
Yes, well, what am I to do if the subject is Wind, I live in Holland and my primary photography (cough) is landscapes (it seems)? So again windmills, but I chose another one this time. Here the miller was just ready with the sails on the 'wieken' (the wings?), I was too late at the scene to capture him standing on the wings busy with the sails. The light became very dull after this, so I took no more photos.
The windmill in the background is this one:

I agree with the comments about the movement of the wind. Unfortunately I had no tripod with me, else I'd have shot it @ F18, ISO200 and probably a polarizer attached. The shutterspeed would need to be very slow, because the wings were not turning fast. So I opted for freezing @ 1/1000s.
Another aspect of uncertainty is the person in the shot. I should have asked him to pose, but I was not that bold. The reason why I kept him in is that a similar photo without him looked boring (The pose could be way better). I kept the grey box in because cropping it tighter made the stairs look too short and wrong.

Anyway, the photo was interesting enough to get a lot of comments, most helpful. Thank you all.

Lovely photo, good quality, nice subject. Although this is a wind object, I think it may have been more fitting if the mill had been cycling around, which could have been shown with a slower shutter speed.

returning for comments:
Almost like "Old faithful" A great image and figure helps tell the story. Bumping up.

Super composition. Now why weren't the sails on the move. I know - we can't have it all.

This is way too static to illustrate 'wind", IMO. The position of the figure is unfortunate as well, so much better had be been 2 steps dpwn...

would have been better without the person in that picture

BEAUTIFUL SHOT. NICE COLOR CONTRAST.

Beautiful shot, but it doesn't really say "wind" to me. Maybe a little motion blur on the vanes would have done it.

predictable, but well executed shot. I think the person in the shot and table, etc are distracting rather than enhancing this image. 7.

Nice quiet mood to this.

The image is nice but too static. No motion. I think if the blades look like they were moving it would have been a stronger entry.

Picture perfect, I really like the wind mill. Very good composition. I wish you had captured some wind action though.

One of the better windmill shots I have seen in the challenge.

What is that person doing in the bottom left of the frame? Was it essential to the photo that he be positioned there or in the frame at all?

Ah, this is a beautiful capture. I think the smaller windmill is a nice counterpoint to the foreground. Person on the steps is unfortunately distracting. Same with the metal housing/cabinet in the lower left edge. I feel that you could have improved the color saturation by selectively boosting the cyans/blues, and greens. A dehazing step with an unsharp mask could also liven up the picture somewhat. Overall a pleasing entry.

A nice shot although a little static would hacve liked to see some movemant in the vanes , good idea with the person gives it scale.
