These are mini fridge magnets placed on a surface in a diagonal line to create some form of depth of field. The "o" & "e" letters have been placed on their side on purpose.

Only the letter "k" is completely in focus - all the rest are out of focus to give the impression of "broken".

I also used a random piece of cardboard for the background - again - portaying what I see as "broken".

Yeah but nothing broken... nice idea, but in thee kind of challenge you can't get away with just writing the word like say, in yellow.

Good lighting, but could have benefited from a slightly larger DOF to avoid the out-of-focus 'b'. Taking a picture of the word "broken" also seems a little too easy, and not really meeting the spirit of the challenge.

O.k., what about this is broken? Nice color, good bakground texture, nice lighting, good depth of field, what's broken?
