My wife and I design and create playing cards under the name Jocu. One of my many roles in supporting her artwork is to take the product photos for the webstore www.jocu.cards which I also designed.
At first a frustrating process, I gradually accepted that I had been involved with photography and cinematography long enough to do the job properly, and it's only recently after much hard work that I find myself proud of the shots I do for the site.
Here are some examples of the product shots I do, generally taken in real or studio-created natural environments with one or two speedlites.
This is just me, but I think this is a little too dark, and I love dark and moody. A very dull, grey looking Christmas, a bit more lighting and brightness and contrast will make these feel a bit more cheerful and festive and set off your product. Adore the card sets though! So welcome back and here is your 1st critique! ((ekkk))
