Challenge: Yellow Revisited (Basic Editing II)
Camera: Canon EOS-20D
Location: Kitchen (pretending to be a Studio)
Date: Dec 7, 2004
Aperture: f/20
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/3200s
Galleries: Macro, Action
Date Uploaded: Dec 7, 2004

Lemon dropped into an aqarium, lit with two 550EX speedlights, shutter tripped by a beam breaker. Water splashed everywhere but it was fun learning what one can do with high speed sync.
Converted from RAW in PS CS, increasing exposure and saturation just a little, then levels (Gamma up), cropped a little, USM, resized, USM, saved for web.
Taken with the Canon EF 100mm macro lens, camera mounted on a tripod, straight to my laptop via USB 2.0.

Great use of action through the water. I think the photo could have been cropped slightly more on the left

Great idea and realisation, I only think that the part above the surface is degrading a photo a bit... While the action in water is perfectly lit, part above it is underexposed with only fraction of splash visible. Also water drops on front glass and reflection of the lemon on surface are distracting... 10 for the underwater part and 7 for the rest => still a solid 9...

Not sure what it is with people having things fall into water, and normally that effect kind of gets under my skin, but this was done very nicely. Nice crisp focus. 9

In the town where I was born lived a man who squeezed to sea, and he told us of his life, in the land of yellow things. So we sailed out to the sun, til we found a sea of fishtank. And we lived inside the camera frame, in a citrus submarine
