I actually thought that this was a creative interpretation for this challange. The setting sun casting the loooooong shadow spoke volumes to me along with your title. I gave it a 6. I found people focused to much on a "recognizable" landmark rather than how a photographer interpreted the challange. Anything can be a defining landmark to someone (or something) as your picture clearly demonstrates. Good job!

While I agree with your title, to pull off a challenge interpretation like this you need a really stunning photo. This one has nice texture and lighting, but very little 'wow' factor - 4 |

true but still must be able to tell what the landmark is. |

This is different, but too far a stretch for the challenge in my opinion. |

This does not work for me. Not really a landmark, leaf is lost in the snow, etc. |

can't wait to see the other comments and the voting break down on this one...
sometimes, at this time of day, you have to look not just where the light is coming from, but also where it's going. the strength of the shadows and the glare off the snow do not really leave a richness of texture that might have been found from a slightly different angle or if you had shot this 15 minutes later (assuming this is sunrise). also, the image might have been more interesting if, instead of silhouetting the leaf, you had captured the leaf's colors. |

Nice idea, a good take on the theme. I like the long shadow and relief on the snow but as a whole it lacks punch - good luck |

While I agree with your title, the overall composition is uninspiring and mundane. The leaf is simply not interesting enough of a focal point to give this photograph any remarkability. |

Definately an interesting take on the challenge, I would have preferred if you had simply titled it Prominence is relative, but definately a great idea here. |

I'm not so sure of many people will appreciate this like I do. :) |

lightning and composition are fantastic! Works for me as a landmark even though if you hadn't said it was a leaf it would have taken me a while to figure it out, |

Snow is hard to shoot. The texture and light are really beautiful. A creative and risky idea. Kudos to you for your courage! |
