I hear you, I got this because I did real-estate photoshoot and got money from there and bought this :D

Thank you very much for the explanation - I am glad you explained about the Flash an the exposure time.

I didn't realise you could just trigger the flash with the MIOPS trigger - that is very interesting to hear.

I really need to get one of these triggers to have a play but I am trying to be good and not buy any new toys:)

there is nothing to hide atleast from me :)

Here is the EXIF of the shot and in here you would notice that the "Flash - did not fire" and also "exposure = 5 sec". Because in between the Flash and Camera MIOPS was sitting and that device didn't tell camera that flash was fired or not. so what I did was I first press shutter button to open the shutter and next pop the balloon and flash was on my left hand side which got fired as the result of the pop. The pop and fire of the flash happens in that 5 sec window. flash was in manual mode with power of 1/32 and since that was connected to the trigger so trigger issues flash fire as soon as it received audio signal.

About the water in balloon, it was 70% filled and rest was air as to make sure when the pop is happening because of the air, it makes sound and that sends audio signal to trigger. to burst ballon I use a pin thin enough to cause burst.

The Flash I used was Canon 600EX-RT and rest is in the EXIF.

This is fantastic! Would love more details if you care to share such as was this a balloon full of water, how did you burst the balloon and related how did you trigger the sound function? What lighting did you use?
