I decided to take the backroads home from the golf course. I saw this beautiful corvette at the stop sign waiting for me to make the turn. It did not follow me. As I continued over the hill past a small farmhouse I saw a man with a movie camera set up pointing to where I had come from. I went down and turned around and stopped to ask the cameraman if he was making a video of the Corvette. He said that he was shooting for an upcoming program on TV for Motor Week. I asked if he wouldn't mind if I shot some pictures as the Vette came over the hill. Perfect! The show is to be aired on PBS sometime in September.

The 1963 Corvette was the first ever production Corvette coupe sported with a fastback body. There were only 10,594 produced. It had a standard 250 HP engine but with optional variants up to 360 HP. You could also get an AM-FM radio, air conditioning and leather upholstery upgrades. It had a base price of $4037!
The classic 1963 split window fastback although not tremendously popular at the time due to poor rear window visibility is BELOVED by Corvette fans the world over!!
