 How appropriate that the archival image that appealed to me to work with was taken in St Ives, Cornwall, known for its long connection with painters.

... There were, and still are, great sculptors and writers also drawn to the area.

A branch of the Tate gallery was opened there in the last 20-30 years, situated overlooking the bay not far from where I took this image ~ We were on our way to visit it at the time.

Cropped out the headland, flipped horizontally, increased texture and contrast in sky, and used Topaz simplify to reduce detail in the remaining areas.
