I love the exposure, and the color you chose for the duotone. Beautiful!

Electrical yes. Electronic...doesn't seem so much. Low tech-definitely Sepia toning greatly enhances the 'aging' of this image and it is well-framed but seems too busy. The butter on the lower corner and 'bagel?bread?" on the right center are way overexposed as is the upper left corner; perhaps tho this is something akin to kigh-key antique style. Compared to the dark, rich tone in the toaster, it seems a bit out of place. Clean out some of the distractions and simplify the whole to create a real impact, but overall a good presentation of the challenge.

Excellent duotone but seems to suffer from compression and many areas are overexposed. Also, it may have been mentioned a million times already (about the toaster being electrical) so I won't go there.

Nicely framed. Great example of low tech!

"non-electronic"? This is low tech as far as electric toasters go, but it's an electronic toaster. The composition, on the other hand is excellent. But as it doesn't meet the challenge specification I have no choice but to give it a 1. Sorry. (There are at least ten other entries that have made this mistake.)

[edit]
OK. There's a hot debate running in the forums about what exactly is "electronic".

I have decided to subtract only one point for items I believe to be electronic, rahter than the hard-line "1" I originally issued for such items. This is far more fair and reasonable.

great choice of subject. however, this photo looks a little too busy for me. also, the upper left corner is very very bright.

Nice use of color. A bit blown out in spots. Good job.

Great idea. The image is a little too cluttered for me; it takes away from your main subject. The old toaster, some toast and some crumbs would have sufficed. I like the monochromatic orangish-hinting-at-sepia but a tad more edgy hue. I like the origin of your light source. Since it comes from the left, it evokes the feeling of morning for me, which goes well with your image.
