I had the opportunity to take a portrait shot of these two students. This was done in studio with strobe lighting. It was shot with a Tamron 35-150mm lens.

I agree - I thought a light in the background would have been a real distraction.

Yup, Renaissance style it is and an excellent before and after shot. I know lots of people 'think' there should be a good seperation between background and hair but this shot obviously doesn't need it.

Thank you - the girl on the right had quite a few blemishes but in total her skin was almost porcelain like so I diced to smooth it out and get rid of the imperfections.
