 My neighbour's boyfriend, Mike. He was busy stacking a few cord of wood and had a fire going nearby, hence the sooty smears. He was good-natured enough to let me capture him :-)

This image feels too cropped. Clearly the subject has been working on something but I get no sense of what that is. Typically if you see something like a coal miner, he's standing with a pick or in front of a tunnel. All of that is lost in this closeup.
