Woody will hang like this over the course of the next two weeks until voting ends. Then, he either is freed or is reduced to a pile of ashes.

HOSTAGE LOG:
11/22/04 - Woody taken hostage. The demands to be met are one ribbon of any color, save brown, before the end of Humor II. Hopefully, the voters will be so distressed that they're forced to rate this image highly so I'll release Woody. Also hopefully, there won't be any paint bombs or tracking devices in said ribbon.

11/23/04 - Day 2 of the Hostage taking. It appears as of current that there are 4 entries for the Humor II challenge. That means all I have to do is not finish last to ribbon. I'm being a bit optimistic, but hopefully the entries stay at this lowly number until voting starts. There has to be at least one god awful picture. I know mine's not it though. Anyways, Woody is still tied and gagged. I tried to feed him today, but apparently he doesn't eat cabbage. Which is interesting, because I thought everyone loved cabbage. But I was wrong. But hey, I know I love cabbage. Woody's refusal of cabbage forced me to put him through some torture, unfortunately. He seems like a nice guy, but I really want a ribbon. But I digress. I sat Woody down, still tied and gagged, on an old stump that I use to chop wood. I then proceeded to split 20 logs right in front of him. This has to have an emotional effect on him. Now he'll eat cabbage. Come to think of it, did I remove the gag before I tried to feed him? ............ Oops. Oh well, I stand by my methods. I'll just try tomorrow.

11/24/04 - Day 3 of the Hostage taking. I tried once more to feed Woody some cabbage. This time I removed the gag, however I couldn't find his mouth!! It must've been ripped off when I took the gag off. Therefore, Woody now has no mouth. So he won't be eating. Which means more cabbage for me. I digress. I've decided to just leave the gag on, and turn woody over once I get a ribbon still bound and gagged. That way, the recoverers of my hostage will feel it's there fault for ripping his mouth off. Score: James 2, Voters 0. I left Woody hanging all day, I don't know if he's doing alright. I lit a book of matches in front of his face today, just as a scare tactic. Let him know who's boss, y'know.

11/25/04 - Happy Thanksgiving voters! Woody once again shows his worth (or lack thereof) when I attempted to use him as a turkey baster. Apparently, he can't hold much liquid. Later, I played football (with Woody) and scoreda touchdown. During my victory celebrations, I threw Woody against the ground, and to my dismay, he had become lodged in the damp soil. I had to wry him out, and now from his head down to his waist, he has a mud stain on him. But oh well, You can't see it in the picture, so I've got another one by the voters! Score: James 3, Voters 0! Haha!

Your whole thing made me laugh, gave the pic a 5. Give your writing and post a 100A+. Even though you gave my yellow pic a mean comment. Okay I may have laughed a little on the inside but i definitely was not laughing on the outside. I cant believe I read all that though and you just ended it with a pic. Finish the story, don't be lazy. :D

Oh, so close. All you can hope for now, to get your ribbon, is three disqualifications in the top 5.

Love this shot, it's just too funny. Had to come back and leave a comment on this. The whole composition is just perfect for this shot and love the lighting here. Just had to bump it up.

You probably should have said "If I GET a ribbon, woody fries". :)

Like most kidnappers, your randsom note is flawed. I presume you want a ribbon before the end of this challenge, not before this chellenge. And torturing the poor guy isn't in a kidnappers best interest. Anyway, all kidding aside, it's cute, and you probably will get your ribbon. Good luck.

For cruelty to Woody I cannot possibly give you more than 1. Wait, that means I'm being cruel to him too, so I should give you a 10. I'll have to give this some thought and come back later...

Funny idea, great backdrop and lighting. I would have liked the note to be made up of cut out magazine and newspaper letters.

You should have a pretty good shot at that ribbon. At the very least, top 5.

Normally, I don't give in to the demands of terrorists... but each time I look at this photo, it makes me chuckle -- which is my main criterion in the "Humor" challenge for giving you a 10. (In return, I expect to see a recent photo of Woody holding a current issue of the New York Times as "proof of life").

Don't hurt Woody! Please... Very clever idea, great rendition. The composition is extraordinary. The missing signature and the tuck tape (duck tape, not sure wich one is the real name) are awsome touches. The light, alltough very simple, works great! I just moved it up from my prior vote that was allready high. Nice, real nice!

so to many shot have woody in them anyway i say give him the flame and i'll give u a 10...i have grown tired of shots with wooden figures like our friend woody in yours when they are done the right way they can be nice but wood often gets abused i say put him out of his missury.

note: the above is MO and any harm that comes to woody should and can not be blamed on me.

nice image -GL
it is way to late sorry for the long j/king comment
