I'll just echo what the other post challenge commenters have said...this is perfect as it is. It was my only 10.

people will always have advice on how to make your photo more boring. It's harder to give advice about how to make your photos more interesting. doing the opposite of the former advice is a start. 10 from me

The odd think is that I appreciate the vertical line of the door that gives some authentic feeling that I always want in a portrait. Plus a composition full of character,

I like everything bout this, his head pushing the edge, the high contrast, the lean...it's just so damn engaging.

Something really charismatic about your big eyed nephew, technically it’s not that good but it is full of charm. I gave you a seven.

Nice try at rembrandt lighting, Your Shadows (histogram Left) and Highlights (histogram Right) are both to the extremes and you lose details in both. I would also would have recomposed to get the Door hinge out of the picture and bring in the left side, your right side of his face.

Pity about the distracting line of a door and door hinge on the left. It would have been better if you had eliminated that line by cropping your photo just on the inside of that line and instead of chopping of part of the boys head on the right, had not done so, but had included the boys entire head and face in the frame. I would have also cropped of about a 1/2 centimeter from the bottom so just eliminating that other distracting little line in the bottom right hand corner.
Otherwise good subject with nice lighting and processing.
