Interesting effect -- the "subjects" are still recognizable despite the distortion. Were you shooting upwards under a power pole/tower?
I'll have to see what combination of Photoshop filters comes close to replicating this ... |

| Looks like a fun app for 'playing around' however, am pretty sure I'd prefer the original deeply storm-clouded sky :) I do get the feeling of big waves here as well btw. |
